Ben Rand | Co-Owner
Regional Principal for Hawaii
At a young age, Ben worked with his father, a master hat-maker, where he learned that artistry comes from understanding a client's needs, desired design, and how materials intersect to create something new and unique. He believes the key to a successful project is to listen carefully, build trust, communicate clearly and proactively, and follow through on all commitments.
Since 2007, Ben has served as superintendent, project manager, and regional principal on several notable Dowbuilt projects. He is an expert at building in remote areas and is known for his engaged, personable way of managing people and projects. Clients, partners, and crew members respect Ben for his persistence, focus, and deep knowledge of what it takes to build unique and complicated works of architecture.
Ben is responsible for all of our work in Hawaii and resides on the Big Island with his wife and young children.
