Bigwood

Bigwood is a 6,500-square-foot house located in Sun Valley, Idaho, designed by Olson Kundig. Its entire structural steel system is exposed with 1/16” tolerances to create all finish openings for the door and window system. All board-formed concrete and wood paneling throughout the house were executed so alignments were consistent in both a vertical and horizontal direction. There are three major “gizmos” in the project. The main level gizmo operates a massive “window” opening to the exterior and both custom garage doors operate as walls.
