Montauk Residence

Situated on a stunning 10-acre beachfront property in New York, our Montauk project involved a complete gut remodel of a two-story, 4,000-square-foot home originally built in the 1990s. We transformed the residence from the ground up, stripping it down to the studs and implementing all-new electrical systems, walls, fixtures, and finishes. We re-shingled the exterior in red cedar and recreated the interior using natural clay-finished walls, white oak flooring, and Belgian bluestone in the kitchen and bathrooms.

The renovation enhances the home’s connection to its extraordinary surroundings. A double-height foyer provides expansive ocean views through the dining and living rooms, creating a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor spaces. Adjacent to these areas is the kitchen, which opens to a screened porch overlooking the swimming pool and vegetable garden—ideal for daily living and entertaining.

Upstairs, a central office separates the primary suite from two guest bedrooms, offering a quiet retreat with water views on one side and a forested expanse on the other. A secondary staircase off the mudroom leads to a private bedroom for the client’s son, a thoughtful nod to the home’s history, where the original owner once crafted fishing lures.
